Before each snap, pick an offensive or defensive play that fits the down and distance.
On offense, move the ball carrier, wait for a receiver to get open, then press Spacebar to throw. If you keep the ball, run upfield and dodge defenders.
On defense, cover receivers and cut off the ball carrier. Stop the offense before the first-down marker to take the ball back.
Score touchdowns (6 points), then choose an extra point or a two-point conversion. Finish the game with more points than your opponent.

Click inside the game frame so the keyboard works. For two-player matches, test both layouts first because some keyboards cannot register many keys at once.
Do not throw the moment the play starts. Wait for a receiver to separate, but not so long that the pass rush reaches your quarterback.
Stiff-arm just before contact: too early and the defender recovers, too late and you are tackled. Dive only near a marker, the goal line or the sideline, because you lose movement control mid-dive.
Repeating one play makes you easy to read, especially against a friend. Run when defenders spread out, then attack deep once they crowd the run.
Stand between the quarterback and the receiver to intercept. Blitz selectively, since heavy pressure can leave receivers uncovered.
When leading late, keep possession and avoid risky passes. When trailing, gain yards quickly. Go for two only when it ties the game or builds a more useful lead.
